In the book Romeo and Juliet, love plays a major role in the story. Love is also the theme in the story, and each character had a different view of it. Lady Capulet thinks that Juliet should marry Paris young and Juliet, having recently met Romeo, is against the choice. but cannot marry Romeo because she is a capulet and Romeo is a Montague. The families are in feud and the pastor also thought that marrying Romeo and Juliet would be good for the families, and that they would end their struggle.

In my life, my family also goes through struggles. We dont talk to some members of our family, and we sometimes have fights with them. This may not be as violent a battle or a battle over respect, but it does have the same concept.

The article "Undocumented immigrants push Gov.Andrew Cuomo to Support the Dream Act" By  Erica Pearson is about how immigrants are strongly trying to convince Governor Cuomo to pass the Dream Act.Many are trying to convince him by using social networking sites.For example,they have used twitter and Facebook to ask him many times if he is going to support the Dream Act.A coalition of immigrant groups sent the governor a letter about the issue.Governor Cuomo has yet to respond to these acts.

 
    The immigrants just want education they want a better life then where they came from.For example in the quote"We are looking for TAP. It would give a lift, to get financial aid. ... We are expecting better things to happen this year"said Alarcon, 18, a student at LaGuardia Community College whose parents brought him to the U.S. illegally from Mexico at age 11.They just want a change there are a lot of hispanic people in the U.S most of them still don't have there green cards.Also the same person said “The governor should be focusing more on the Latino community,” I couldn't agree more.Even though the governor should still focus on other problems paying attention to the latino community would help a lot. 

 
    All in all I disagree with the author's opinion because it is leaning towards the "I believe that the Dream Act should not exist opinion".That's not what I think I believe that we should all have education it doesn't matter if you come from a different country you should let someone feel welcome.I'm not saying that all hispanic people should move here I'm just saying that when someone goes to country its for a reason.Most just hope that in that country they could start a better life and become a better person.Just like Latinos that's all they want life with health and education.Isn't that what we all want?

When life gives you lemon....

I recently finished Virginia Euwer Wolff's novel, "Make Lemonade". The book brought up many problems and real world issues. Some issues the characters were facing were poverty and death. The main character, Lavaughn, had lost her father when she was very young. He had been in a bad neighborhood during a shooting and had been accidentally shot. Lavaughn and her mom had been facing some money problems, they were trying to save up for Lavaughn to go to college. To Lavaughn and her mother, they were severely struggling but, did not realize how fortune they were until they met someone who had even less.

Lavaughn and her mom decided that the best way to save up for college was for Lavaughn to get a job and chip in. As her other friends took jobs as cleaners, she chose to babysit. This was no babysitting job though, it changed everything. The mothers name was Jolly. She had two kids, Jilly and Jeremy. The minute Lavaughn walked into Jolly's home she knew she was in for handful of work. Beside the fact that the house was extremely small, the floors were covered with clothes and dishes were sprawled out around the house. Everything was dirty, and desperately needing  some fixing. Although Lavaughn's mother opposed the job, she took it anyway. First of all, she needed the extra money and second, she knew that Jolly's life needed some fixing.

Later on in the story the author went deeper into the feelings and challenges the characters were facing. I liked the way Virginia Euwer Wolff eased the readers into getting to know the characters. By the middle of the book I learned that Jolly was struggling with a lot more than just tidying up. Both of her children were made from different fathers who both eventually left Jolly. She was being sexually harassed by her boss but keeping her mouth shut for the sake of losing her job which she eventually lost. And worse of all, she was struggling to maintain a stable life for her kids and being able to afford her house. Jolly had lived in a box on the street for most of her life. She had survived through the cold, and despair. She was a "strong soul" as Lavaughns mother exclaimed.

This book turned out to be one of my favorites. It was sad and at some times horrifying but memorable. Lavaughn had learned a very important lesson as the story progressed; never underestimate your life because other people have it much worse than you. She learned that although college was important to her, just getting by was hard for Jolly. This is why Lavaughn never left her side.

poetry blog post on "this is a part of me"

I heard the song “this is a part of me” By Katy` Perry. It’s about how somebody was mistreated bad. She gives many examples on how somebody was mistreated badly. Then she explains with chorus how she wants to get revenge. I think Katy Perry wants the reader to feel no pain even after what they have been through no matter what.

I think Katy Perry want the reader to feel strong even after what they been through because she yells and make a point on how it’s part of her. In the song it says “This is a part of me that you never ever going to take away from me.” This prove how she want to make a point on how you can’t break her. Also that if you break a part of her she is still strong no matter what.

Another part in the song where she explains how you cant break a her is because she is still achivecing life even after all of the drama she is been through. In the song she explains how"But that was then and this is now now look at me."This prove how she is very susceful  even after everything she is been through.Also the drama affect her before but not now.

I think Katy perry want the reader to feel stong and never to lose hope connect to me personally because i always lose hope when i take a test but then when i get the test i get a okay grade and then i dont lose 

hope.I think Katy Perry doesnt want anybody to lose hope connect to teenager because teens seem to lose hope and go to drugs making more drama. But Maybe if they hope the will actually be a good person that could actually change lives.This make me think about humanity because When 9/11 occurred we all were scared and we were thinking when will this happen again but then after 11 years president Obama has found osama bin laden and got him killed making osama no longer a threat.Never lose hope.

The main idea of the article “Worry over spurs talk of cheaper iPhone” By Brian X. Chen is how apple is thinking of selling their product at a cheaper price. The whole world knows what an iPhone is. Analyst needs to decide if they should make apples product cheaper. Investor wants to see the sales of the iPhone to see if they should invest in apple so they could get there share of money. iPhone is a top seller in America but in other country not so much. Brazil, Germany, and Spain sells iPhone up to 650$. People says “they don’t have 650$ to spend on a smartphone.

I think the author wants us to feel agreement over the idea that iPhone should be lowered down. He gives evidence on how iPhone will be a better seller. For example, in the article its says. “By now most of the world knows what a iPhone is.” This shows how the author explained the popularity of the iPhone.

I think selling the iPhone for a lower price will help their business go off the charts. If they lower their price they will have better chance of getting more money. This shows how even apple are stunned at the fact of the selling of the iPhone 5. This prove how the iPhone 5 wasn’t a hot seller and apple want that to change right away. That why I think apple should lower the price. Maybe people will buy the iPhone.

Titans Curse

The Titans curse by rick roadan is a Greek mythology book. It is the third book in the Percy Jackson series. Its all about how Percy just recently got a message from a his best friend Grover who is a satyr (half man half goat), Percy and his other friend named Annabeth head out to a military school where they find 2 other demi-gods with a monster named Dr  thorn who is preventing them to escape but they get saved from a god named Artemis  After they got saved Annabeth, Percy, Grover, and the other two demigods goes back to camp half blood. When they arrive the get new on how Artemis has gone missing. So they all go out to find her. One of the demi gods named Zoë found Artemis she let airtime's free but the kidnapper atlas who is the father of Zoë killed Zoë and they left before atlas could kill anybody else. They returned to camp sad but they all decide to forget about it and act like nothing happen  Artemis ask for the other demigod to assist her she agreed and they left. The story is really sad but happy at the same time. I feel that I feel sad and happy at the same time sometimes. It really sucks to have two emotions at once.

One time when I felt sad and happy at the same time was when my grandpa was leaving the country to perform religious ritual. He went all the way to mecca. I was happy but then I was sad because my grandpa was leaving and I probably won’t see him again. I was happy because I would have my whole room and bed to myself and nobody else. It was a horrible time. I felt more sad than happy. So it just kills me to feel that my grandpa is leaving. I think the situation is kind of the same. Since Zoë died they try to act happy but probably inside its killing them to just think about it.

In conclusion, you can’t act sad and happy and same time. It depends on the situation. If you were to act happy and sad there is something wrong with you. It’s impossible in my opinion.

Journey to The center Of the Earth

I am currently reading Journey to the Center of The Earth.  It’s really science fiction. It all about how 3 people one’s an uncle, nephew, and a explorer. They all set out to go to the center of the earth to make history. But while they go on their way they are stopped by really wired and cool but not friendly when you’re up close creatures. It really get in their way of going to the center of the earth. Also it also change the way the nephew feel about his uncle. His emotion on his uncle changes completely.

One thing that comes in the three explores way to finding the center of the earth. They are stuck in a cave after a pre historic dinosaur a t-rex chase them into a cave they stayed there until the t-rex left. That’s when they had the heart to hear talk about how the uncle is not his dad but he will act like a dad cause he love him. This shows that they probably had problem before they went to the journey. Also it shows how the character emotion on each change within the book.

Another thing that comes up to the explorers is in the end of the book they were stuck in a volcano but above the lava chamber but when one of the explores drop a diamond on the floor it crack leaving the lava to rise up. They get scared and start to climb they stop and stay on a bowl. They get scared even more because the lava is rising. The uncle then tells his nephew “son if we get out of here alive I will be the best uncle ever.” They get out of there alive and life turned out great. This shows that he will do better than before meaning he did badly before and will want to change that.

In conclusion this show that when people are scared or trapped the really want to express their feeling with each other

The Sea Of Monster

Sea of Monster by Rick Riordan.is about a 13 years old kid and his friends trying to find the Golden Fleece. The reason Percy is trying to find the Golden Fleece is because something happened to the tree that covers and protects camp half blood from bad thing like Hades minion or any other threat that could hurt the camp. Originally the quest is suppose to be Clarisse the daughter of Ares, who Ares favors a lot. Because the oracle (A Crystal Ball) pick Clarisse. Percy joined in because he didn't trust Clarisse on getting the quest done so he took off camp and went to go get the fleece with his friends. Percy can’t trust Clarisse even though they are in the same camp for two years now. I can relate to Percy on how he can’t trust anyone. I can’t trust my mom and my friend sometimes.

One way I can relate to Percy’s friend named Annabeth had another friend named Luke at first he was cool with Percy and Annabeth but then Luke betrayed Annabeth and Percy by almost killing Percy by giving Percy some poison by a scorpion. In the sea of monster Luke is on a ship and Luke is talking to Cronus who is the titan father of all gods. Annabeth feel betrayal even after all they went through. I feel this way when I was walking with my friend and then they see their friend who he told me he was going to stay away because they are bad influence on him so he just joins their club and starts bulling other people. Percy’s friend Annabeth and I can both relate to each other on how we feel betrays on our friends.

Percy’s and his dad aren't close as much in sea of monster but the only time I see in the book Poseidon speak to Percy telling him to go find the fleece immiditlty Percy at first doesn't trust Poseidon because he hardly help Percy with anything but later on he see he really need the golden fleece because of the camp. Percy go to go get the golden fleece but not because Poseidon told him because the camp really need the golden fleece now and he is willing to do that. I think Percy is feeling betrayal on how Poseidon just hooks up with his mom and then leave as soon he finds out that she is pregnant.  I can relate to that my dad made a deal with me that if I get in to a school he will give me anything I want. I study very hard and I got in that school and what do I get in return “wow good job Enjam now aim for the specialized high school and you’ll get three more thing you want” But I know how that’s going to end for me. I feel betrayed, lied to just like how Percy feels. Percy and I can both relate to each other.

The Lighting Thief

The Lighting Thief by Rick Roadan is a suspenseful book about a 2 children around the age of 12 and a satyr (half man and half goat) who travels the U.S with trains, buses, and car all to be used to go to Hollywood.  While they go to Hollywood they are slowed down by the god of war named Ares.  Also stopped by a monster named Medusa  Percy goes for his mother and not for the lighting bolt that Poseidon was accused of taking. Percy is still scared because he scared of his mother not belong at Hades place because before Percy join camp half blood he got attack by a Minotaur who disinigrate Percy’s mom and sent her to the underworld. Percy is scared of facing the truth of losing his mother. I can relate to Percy on how he thinks he could lose his mother.

One way I relate to Percy is my mom goes outside at night to see my aunt and uncle because they have a new baby. I feel really scared because she always comes back late which make me think did she get kidnapped or anything else like die. I think Percy also feels the same way I do and he scared and he want everything to be over with. I am also scared to see the truth. If I find out my mom or dad dies it will destroy my heart and I will die.

Another way me and Percy can relate is that Percy has a dad who just wants to throw Percy in the garbage and a mother who just wants hug him until she can’t feel her arms. I have a dad and mom who love me and will love me no matter what. It’s not the same as the dad situation but it is with the mom. But if I had a dad who want to kick me out of my house I problem just leave the house with my mom. But I feel bad for people who don’t have a mother or a father and they live in like a orphanage they have nothing except friends but it not the real thing.

In conclusion, me and Percy can relate to each other he really love his mother and if he problem knew his dad I think he problem like his dad just like how he like his mom. If Percy loses his mom he would problem die and I problem would do the same thing.
